ABL 2019: New Signing of “Mei Mei” Ting Chun Hong

We are pleased to announce the signing of ‘Mei Mei’ Ting Chun Hong for the rest of our ASEAN Basketball League 2019/2020 Season.

Returning to us on loan from NS Matrix, Chun Hong made 27 ABL appearances between 2016 to 2018. His sophomore ABL season saw him average an impressive 8.1 PPG and 4.2 RPG with an efficient 46% shooting percentage.

The 23 year old 191 cm forward has been a mainstay with the Malaysian National Team since 2017 and led the National Team in scoring at the 2017 SEABA Championship and the  2021 FIBA Asia Cup Pre Qualifiers in 2018. 

Chun Hong is also a four time Agong Cup champion, being a part of Negeri Sembilan’s championship teams from 2016 to 2019. 

Head Coach Jamie Pearlman says, “We are pleased to welcome Mei Mei to the Dragons program. He brings an exciting balance of skills to our roster. Offensively he is a very good 3 point shooter as well as an athletic driver and slasher. He is also a motivated defender who wants the responsibility to guard opposition imports in the league. Mei Mei adds the additional depth required to be successful in our highly condensed game schedule.”

Catch Chun Hong’s return on the 5th of January 2020, when we travel to Vietnam to face the Saigon Heat at 6.00 PM Malaysian time.
